2015 Fall Fashion Trends - 3 of my very Favorites

There is so much going on in the fashion world right. With #ParisFashionWeek and #MercedesFashionWeek and all of the other Fashion Weeks happening all over the world....we are in a Fashion Bonanza!! Where does one begin? S,o I've been keeping tabs on a few of my favorite designs going down the runway. I'll give you all some feedback on that in another post. Let's get back to the 2015 Fall Fashion trends. Here are a few fashion trends that you may want to incorporate into your fall wardrobe. I know the fall is already here, but for those who aren't keeping abreast....hope you enjoy:

Plaid:

Red Plaid (Lumberjack's) shirts tied around the waist has been a fashion statement for teenager for a while now.

I just wanted Chris Brown in this post, hee hee :-)

I love the red plaid tam!! Uber Fab!

Over the Knee Boots:

With the Boots and the Skirt (especially with the Fringe - refer to earlier post this year) along with the Camel Coat....totally on trend and loving her swag!

Lastly, as you can tell from most of the pics in this post, short skirts with the OTK boots will be all the rage this fall/winter!!!

LOCF from Paleis Het Loo

My daughter wanted to see some "Royalty" in Holland, so Camille suggested that we visit Paleis Het Loo in Appledorn, Netherlands. Well worth the long train rides from Amsterdam. This palace was beautiful. Thought I would share a few pics from our visit for you all. Enjoy!!

***EXTREMELY NSFW**** New Music Video - Rihanna - BBHMM

Not loving this video, but figured some would enjoy.

Beyonce Celebrating the U.S. Supreme Court passing of the Marriage Equality Law

Check out Ms. Beyonce throwing her support behind the US Supreme Court passing of the Marriage Equality Law in all of the United States! Happy to see that this country is making strides to equal the playing ground for a sect of people. It would be great if we can get this motivation and support behind other pressing issues as well (race relations, equal pay for women, racial profiling etc...). One thing at a time I suppose (Even though it's been a real long time for some of the issues that need to me addressed- just saying).

In the meantime

Keep shaking Bey, keep on shaking!!

You Can Only Stream Prince's Music On TIDAL Now!!!

Apparently, Prince has pulled the majority of his music catalog from all streaming applications except for Jay Z's TIDAL. So if you are a Prince Fan (like myself), you better get ready to pay that $20 a month to get your Prince fix. Another win for TIDAL. Just when I was getting ready to cancel my subscription, TIDAL pulls in my biggest music crush (still alive).

Featured Restaurant - "la V" in Austin, TX

I had a quick say in Austin, TX recently and figured I would share some of the highlights if you ever decided to take a trip there or if you are currently residing and want to check some other spots out. So one of the stand out restaurants was “la V”. It honestly reminded me of a few San Francisco restaurants that I frequent. First, I went during Sunday brunch. The food was great, but the service was wonderful. Seriously, I had the cutest waiter and most of the staff appeared to be very ice looking indeed. laV offers a rustic yet refined cuisine in a welcoming and beautiful setting. Dishes emphasize the ingredients of the season and are at once simple and soulful. The world class wine list provides a rich array of options to compliment the ever-changing menu.We ordered the following (which I would most definitely recommend):

Starter:

kouign-amann, apple thyme jam & cultured jam

cheese plate, seasonal selection with accoutrements

bibb salad, green goddess dressing, garden radishes, pickled spring onions

Main Entrees:

farm egg frittata, asparagus, melted leeks, ricotta, roasted mushrooms

buckwheat crepes, scrambled eggs, smoked trout, hollandaise

Drinks:

House-Made Bellini Prosecco, Fresh Peach Purée (perfect)

Breakfast Martini Vodka, Cointreau, Orange Marmalade (on the strong side for me)

They also had a wonderful Jazz Troupe that played a relaxing and familiar set. From what I understand, this may be on the pricier side for Austin, but well worth the experience.

So Sorry I Left You All Hanging **Sad Face**

I just wanted to give out an apology for being away so long. The last couple of weeks have been life changing for me. I closed a few chapters in life and began some brand new chapters as well. Hopefully, I won’t have to ever keep you waiting that long again for my posts.  So first, let me catch you all up on my weight loss. So I am officially down 40 lbs as of last week. Amazing isn’t it. I’ll be posting before and after photos in aug/sept – which will bring me to my 1 year anniversary of clean eating and regular exercise (the regular exercise has only been regular for about a month to be honest). I just want to clarify that I have cheated on this lifestyle change many, many times. Not to gloat, but just to share some of my shortcomings. Like this weekend for instance, I had to have some pizza and chocolate cake. I really felt terrible afterwards (my body doesn’t want the junk food anymore). But my emotions were craving junk. I’m not perfect and every day I learn something new about myself and how disciplined I am.  When I fall short, I just get back up. I don’t like to accept defeat in any area of my life. I have another 30 lbs before I reach my goal weight. I’ve been working out about 5 days a week and I can really see the difference. Others around me are starting to notice as well. Unfortunately, I just had oral surgery (on 6/3/2015)  (I had braces installed in April and had to make room so my teeth can move). My surgeon has advise me to modify to a light workout (like light walking only after a week or so after surgery). This is so frustrating as I am on a roll and don’t want to lose the momentum. Well, I’m hopping back on the treadmill today. It’s been a week and I can’t wait any longer. I no longer feel that burn in my muscles that I like to feel. Wish me luck today. Hope I don’t bust these stitches, LOL (no seriously J)

I’ll keep posting random updates for those who are interested.

Fashion Designer Favorite - Tamara Mellon

Tamara Mellon is the former president and co-founder of footwear label Jimmy Choo. After receiving a £150,000 loan from her father, Mellon built Jimmy Choo into a reported £500 million business with 100 shops in 32 countries. In 2013, Mellon announced the creation of the TAMARA MELLON brand, a luxury lifestyle brand offering a full range of apparel, shoes, handbags and accessories.[3]The brand launched in November 2013 with a select group of premiere retail partners in the United States and Europe. Tamara has the midas touch. I love everything she does fashion wise. Check out some of her 2015 Spring collection below (www.tamaramellon.com):

Told ya that Fringe would be all the rage this spring/summer :-)
