Making my way through my 20's and beyond, I found myself content in my career, love life and in most aspects of my life. Except when it came to my over-all physical image, now that has been a rollercoaster. I consider myself a fairly attractive person, inside and out. Not to sound cocky or boatstful. However, what I realized that I was missing was my waistline. It's crazy how one minute it's there and then in a blink of en eye....it's not anymore. So I started on a lifestyle change last August when I reached certain numbers on my scale that will not be shared on this BLOG!!! (I still think my scale was lying - at least that's what I like to tell myself) I was so sad and felt extremely defeated by some stupid numbers on a scale. How crazy is that!
Anyway, I mentioned my weight concerns to my bestie Jae, and she mentioned that she was considering this new diet "The Green Smoothie Cleanse" by J.J. Smith. So, we discussed doing the cleanse "together" for support and I immediately purchased the book on-line though Amazon and began to speed read through the book. A very easy read indeed. So, I did the full cleanse and Jae did the modified cleanse version. It was hard at first (the first 3 days), but once I finished going through the sugar and caffeine withdrawal, everything else was easy. I lost almost 15 lbs within a little under 2 weeks - #Fact. The crazy thing is, I kept it off with what I learned about my eating habits. It wasn't necessarily about my work out efforts. I really have spent thousands on Gym Memberships and workout videos and miracle shakes. If only I had actually followed the eating programs as instructed, maybe I would have had better results (I was so lazy and in denial). I can honestly say, that 85% of my weight loss was my eating regime and 15% was probably working out - if you can balance the two, you will get the results you want.
So as of today 4/21/2015, I am down 30lbs total and I feel awesome. I still haven't reached my goal weight yet, but I am on my way and hope to reach my goal sometime in August 2015. I hope those who are reading this and who maybe struggling with the same issues, will feel some encouragement with this post. I will continue to share my experiences and hope readers will share the same with me.
In all seriousness - special Shout out to J.J. Smith! If I never read her book and applied the knowledge, I would still be stuck in that same unhealthy cycle. I don't want to be skinny, just healthy and happy. This is my testimony. Send in your pics and share your journey as well.
